Jemma Sassano is a Seattle based ceramic artist. Inspired by folklore and dark fantasy realms, she conjures functional humanlike forms for daily use. Her work is influenced by the old ghost stories and folktales that are synonymous with growing up in rural New England and the solitude of nature.
Giving form to her nostalgia through a lens of innocence and playfulness, she lets her intuition guide her through the ancient ritual of ceramic making.
Her work is currently being sold via Friend Museum in Pioneer Square.
